About Clicature

Clicature is based in Bakersfield, CA, United States and is the first website of its kind.  Located in sunny (and foggy) central California, we are only an hour or so from the entertainment capital of the world.  We have created a new kind of media, a new method of story telling, and a new form of entertainment.

Our portal is geared towards the new era of digital cameras where we empower you creative types to let yourselves be heard

Press Release

Local company to launch Bakersfield talent on worldwide website

A dozen local actors may find themselves recognized any place there's a computer.

They call it "Clicature.com".

The creators say it's a kind of computer-age visual storybook. Unlike most stories on film though, you won't need sound to follow the story. It uses caption windows, like comic books. But this approach uses real actors, like films.

Clicature.com is the brain child of Bakersfield locals, website creator Jay Manibo and writer/director Brent Kaff. Clicature's first "story-set" is entitled "Class Experiment". The story has one beginning but can go in any of at least five different directions, depending on the choices made by the viewer/reader. The project was shot using high-mega pixel Canon digital cameras and shot in ways that give it a "film style" look.

"We wanted the shots to look like they had been lifted from a theatrical film release", says producer Jessie Brana. "All the choices have already been made in most stories. We liked the idea of empowering people to make their own choices. Clicature.com lets you choose for yourself the direction a story goes. It also empowers the imagination." Kaff says. . "When other kids were playing cowboys and Indians, I was playing Twilight Zone. You can see the influence in the storylines I create."

Kaff is a TV news photographer and teaches photography at Bakersfield Christian High School. He was exclusively contracted to EUE/Screen Gems for seven years.

Most of the twelve local actors involved in the project are with Bakersfield's McCright Agency.

The Website launch is scheduled for Saturday, December 15, 2007.

There will be a launch party with the actors and crew at John's Incredible Pizza from 6:30 to 8:00 that evening. The Media is invited.
